Determined to provide fresh, preservative free sandwiches and cafe fare, Ballard native Teresa Schulz pursued her vision to create Melt Cafe, featuring made to order and amazing sandwiches. A natural hostess, she combined her love of entertaining and delicious food to open Melt Cafe.
The philosophy is simple, classic foods with a twist, utilizing the freshest high quality ingredients, including meats roasted on site, grass fed local beef and Macrina Bakery artisian breads. Always homemade and never out of a box - you can taste the difference. She is very enthusiastic about providing a perfectly delicious sandwich every time- and you may catch her at the prep table exclaiming something like " THAT'S A MIGHTY FINE LOOKING SANDWICH!" or "YOU ARE REALLY GOING TO LOVE THIS"!
Along with her consulting partner, they have combined their many years of business ownership experience to create a neighborhood cafe that is inviting & relaxed, while upholding high standards for quality and maximum sandwich enjoyment!
Besides the awesome food, Melt Cafe is proud to provide bio-containers and utensils, & participate in commercial recycling & composting. In keeping with this tradition, the simple & artful cafe interior design is comprised of many re-claimed and repurposed furniture & building materials, although it's hard to tell what's new and what's vintage.
